Microsoft said it was investigating an authentication breach with Office 365, preventing users from accessing some of the company’s most widely used services, including Office.com, Outlook.com and Teams.
The company’s status panel he said the number started at 2:25 pm PT, and has mostly affected consumer users across the globe for the last few hours. Some government users may also be affected, the company said.
In a series of tweets, Microsoft said it tried to fix the problem, but was forced to cancel its changes after the repair failed.
Around 5:40 pm PT, Microsoft said it “sees improvements for many services” after “redirecting traffic to alternative infrastructure to improve the user experience while we continue to investigate the issue.”
But this leaves millions on the west coast of the United States and users in Australia cannot even access their online services.
