Former WWE superstar Matt Sydal recently made his AEW debut as part of Casino Battle Royale at AEW: All out. Although he made his debut at the show, it is unclear whether he signed with the company or the nature of his dealings with the company.
In an interview, Matt Sydal spoke with Raj Giri The Daily Podcast of Wrestling Inc. on various aspects, including WWE, Ring of Honor, and other subjects. During the interview, he took a hit at WWE for their COVID-19 test protocols and talked about how other fight promotions have made it better.
Matt Sydal takes hits in the WWE
Matt Sydal praised the way NJPW handled the tests during the pandemic, and they were extremely cautious. However, he indicated that in WWE, he felt that the company had not been too worried about the wrestlers.
“I think the New Japan treated them very well and professionally. I know they were very careful. The Japanese style, they have to worry about their neighbors a little more than them. So I think they did a great job.” from what I know about the WWE, it doesn’t seem like they were too worried about the wrestlers getting sick. I think they’ve lessened the disease. “
Matt Sydal went on to say that he felt things were different in AEW, and they were tested every time they were a part of the shows, while in WWE, that wasn’t the case before.
“I don’t think they put the safety of the fighters first or even their fans out, but I mean it doesn’t seem to have too many side effects, plus we know that all these corrupt politicians are fighting so well that companies don’t have any responsibility even if people get sick AEW, two of my students have come here to do AEW Dark. Faboo Andre and Tony Donati, I will call them only by name as they are really hard working students of mine at Sy Tojo, and they have been picked up here and have undergone coronavirus tests every time they pick up. “
