Lamar Jackson described the Chiefs as the Ravens’ “Kryptonite” after another defeat Monday night.
Kansas City, behind the dominant quarterback game from Patrick Mahomes, went on to a 34-20 victory over Baltimore at M&T Bank Stadium. It marked the third year in a row in which the Chiefs, the reigning Super Bowl champions, had beaten the Ravens.

Jackson, who was sacked four times and thrown for just 97 yards on a 15-of-28 pass, said the Chiefs (3-0) were Baltimore’s weakness.
“Our Kryptonite,” quarterback Ravens told reporters. Jackson rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown.
“Obviously, the second half, as I always say, we always start to turn at the wrong time. We have to get in and finish as we start. We always go against them for some reason,” Jackson said. “We’re going to come back and play better, that’s all.”
As Jackson struggled, Mahomes, the 2018 NFL MVP and 2020 Super Bowl MVP, launched four touchdown passes and rushed for another. Mahomes finished 31st of 42 for 385 yards.
Asked about the performances of Mahomes, Jackson, the 2019 NFL MVP, replied, “Excellent.”
The Ravens ’defense, Calais Campbell, also spoke incandescently of Mahomes, but wants a blow to redemption.
“They don’t give that guy half a billion dollars for no reason,” Campbell told reporters, referring to the 10-year extension that Mahomes agreed to this past season that could reach $ 503 million.
“He’s an incredible talent, he just got to play after game,” Campbell added. “I know who we are and what we’re capable of and he’s been able to go out and do fantastic things against us, so you have to take your hat off and give him a little respect.
“I look forward to winning the right to try and face it again because I’m very confident if we play the game that we can attack with those guys.”
