Joe Judge supports Daniel Jones after the costly error of the Giants

There were too many Tuesday morning quarterbacks to count.

The same thought populated so many minds after him Loss 26-16 from Giants to Steelers On Monday night, I was wondering what the outcome might have been in a 19-play, third quarter of the drive ended with a touchdown forward instead of an interception by Daniel Jones in the end zone.

“There are certainly a couple of games to play and run, but man, let me tell you, we woke up this morning, I’m glad he’s on our team,” Jones ’reporter Joe Judge said Tuesday. “I’m very happy with the way Daniel has played. I know the rest of the team feels very confident with him here calling the signals for us. ”

Starting his first season opener, Jones completed 26 of 41 passes for 241 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, while adding 22 yards rushing. Despite more pressure than any quarterback in the NFL in Week 1, Jones earned the Giants ’highest offensive point (82.1), according to Pro Football Focus.

“Obviously there are things we’re going to clean up, decision, but I’ll tell you now, I think that guy was in the bag with a lot of courage and he gave a lot of really good balls to us,” the Judge said. “[He] he really controlled the flow of the game, he did a lot of work under pressure. ”

Jones has now had at least one touchdown pass in each of his first 13 NFL games, marking the fourth-longest streak among quarterbacks in the last 50 years, followed by Kurt Warner (23), Baker Mayfield (17) and Brad Johnson (15).

What sets you apart the most for Judging on Darius Slayton’s six catches, 102 yards and two touchdowns?

“I think he played fast. … He’s a fast guy, but there’s a difference between being a fast guy and playing fast, ”said the Judge.“ He goes from the ball to the ball, he makes decisions quickly, he cuts quickly, he’s aggressive in the traffic to make catches. It’s something you can’t replicate. “

New defensive coordinator Patrick Graham used just one defensive lineman (Leonard Williams) in more than half of the 64 defensive snaps, while beginners saw a lot of game time change. In linebacker Devante Downs played 14 snaps, while the other starting middle linebacker, Blake Martinez, played every snap. Martinez earned the highest grade of any player on the Giants (83.9), with his 11 attacks tied for most among the league’s defenders.

Veteran defender Logan Ryan was limited to four combined tackles and 38 defensive snaps after barely a week of practice with his new team.
