Welcome to the NFL, boys.
The first offensive player taken in the 2020 NFL draft met the first-choice defender in 2020 on Sunday, with Joe Burrow’s Bengals taking on Chase Young and the Washington football team. So, of course, there would be some fireworks.
In a fourth and second quarter, Young denied Burrow a scoring opportunity, meeting the Bengals QB at the 1-yard line with a vicious shot and teeth.
Young forced the fumble on Burrow because of the hit, giving the ball to Washington. To Burrow’s credit, he repaid himself immediately after the success, showing that the tough Ohio runs deep.
The story between the two may be linked to Ohio State: Burrow, even though he ended his college career in Louisiana, was once a member of the Buckeyes. Young was named No. 2 overall outside of Ohio State. In all, Burrow appeared in 10 games for the Buckeyes before transferring to LSU.
Twitter took note of the cancellation:
The Bengals have a two-point lead over the Football Team, 9-7.
